NESMUK leather stroking strop with 3 Grains
The handmade stroking strop allows the preservation of the initial sharpness of cooking knives. The four-sided stroking strop has three leather straps processed with diamond pastes of varying fineness; the fourth without diamond serves for polishing and care of the cutting edge.
The core of the string strap is made of stable, oiled oak wood. With a total length of 32.5 cm, the easy handling of the stroking belt makes it ideal for professional re-sharpening and polishing of high-quality knives.
Three of the four leather straps on the stable, oiled oak core are provided with differently fine diamond pastes. The fourth side without diamond serves for the final polishing of the cutting edge. The application is very simple and takes a maximum of two minutes.
Application
- Attaching the blade
The leather is inscribed. Start on the side "rough" (20 μ Diamond) and determine the correct angle of approx. 15-18 degrees by placing the blade on the index finger as shown. - Pull the blade up over the leather. The fine diamond dust removes microscopic chippings and roundings.
- After this trigger, lift off the knife, turn it over and pull the other side of the blade back down over the leather. Three such deductions from both sides are sufficient. Repeat this process on the leather side "fine" (5 μ), "very fine" (1 μ) and "finish" (without diamond). After some applications a dark steel abrasion will appear on the leather, which however does not impair the function of the stroking belt, since the diamond dust remains permanently in the leather. This way you can keep the blade sharp as gently as possible when using it regularly.
