Minoshi Garden Mobile
From art object to architectural space construction and from scenographic installation to object - atelier oï presents Minoshi Garden™, a mobile for your own four walls.
This poetic furnishing object is a reinterpretation of Honminoshi Garden™, an experimental installation created for a series of projects in collaboration with Japanese manufacturers. The installation symbolically captures a moment in Japanese nature - an ode to the art of paper making in Mino, where age-old skills are preserved by masters and passed down from generation to generation.
The work Honminoshi Garden™, presented for the first time at the exhibition neue räume 15 in Zurich, went on a world tour in 2016 and was exhibited at renowned international design fairs and biennials, such as Milan Design Week, Tokyo Design Week, Biennale di Venezia or Art Basel in Miami Beach.
While Honminoshi Garden™ was constructed with exquisite, masterfully created papers, Minoshi Garden™ preserves the poetic spirit and essence of the art installation with the help of a Washi called Pansion specially developed by Molza Gorparation.
Minoshi Garden™ refers to the art of Japanese origami, which originally had a ceremonial character. The folded paper elements reminiscent of flowers or stars are based on the square and its universal symbolism. The play of light and shadow, created in natural movement, makes Minoshi Garden™ a living part of the moment.
