Kastehelmi glass tableware

Kastehelmi was designed in 1964 by the designer Oiva Toikka. For one of his first projects he was commissioned to design affordable pressed glass tableware for everyday use. His experiments with different shapes of drops resulted in a completely new three-dimensional surface structure that emphasizes reflected light on the surface.

The name of the series, which literally means "dewdrop", was inspired by dewdrops that glitter on blades of grass like a chain of pearls as the sun rises above the horizon in summer.
Kastehelmi is a simple means to add a pinch of festivity to everyday life, and it is equally easy to create the festive table around the series. The series can easily be combined with other items at home.
